A Focus on Cosmetic Dentistry
Advances in technology and treatment options have revolutionized the cosmetic dentistry process. Whether you’re looking to mask chips, breaks or discoloration with porcelain veneers, Dr. Bouvier can design a treatment plan that will give you a smile that looks and feels completely natural.
The most dramatic results of cosmetic dentistry are often achieved through a combination of tooth whitening techniques, reshaping the contour of your teeth or by adjusting your tooth alignment. While evaluating your dental history, Dr. Bouvier will discuss potential options and present a treatment plan that is suited to meet your individual needs and goals.
If you need replacement teeth, then we invite you to learn more about dental implants. Dr. Bouvier offers dental implant restorations to replace single teeth and secure dentures, partials, and bridges. Dental implants have been used extensively for many years and are a natural-looking, durable solution for missing teeth. Many denture wearers choose implants because it gives them the control and convenience they had with their natural teeth.
Dental implant restorations have a 95 to 98% success rate and rival natural teeth in look, feel, and function. They’re a durable replacement tooth option that, with proper care, last most patients a lifetime.
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells permanently bonded to teeth to conceal imperfections or instantly change misalignments of your teeth. The porcelain reflects light like natural tooth enamel and resists staining. Veneers are an extremely popular cosmetic dentistry choice because of their beauty, longevity, and natural appearance. This completely custom dental solution can dramatically improve your smile and your self-image.
By applying porcelain veneers:
- Straighten crooked teeth without braces
- Brighten stained teeth
- Widen narrow smiles
- Create a more attractive and youthful smile
- Eliminate gaps between teeth
- Beautify awkwardly shaped or damaged teeth
At your porcelain veneers consultation, Dr. Bouvier will discuss how you want your smile to look. She’ll design your veneers to suit your facial shape, coloring, and distinctive style and personality. Then a skilled ceramist at our trusted cosmetic dentistry lab will craft your veneers from high-quality dental porcelain. You’ll wear provisionals (temporaries) during the fabrication process. When your final veneers are completed, Dr. Bouvier will bond them in place to completely rejuvenate your appearance.
As a person ages, teeth to gradually darken and over time your teeth may develop unattractive stains as a result of various food, drink, tobacco products, and even some medications or bacterial infections.
Using the Opalescence teeth whitening system, Dr. Bouvier offers both in office and take-home whitening treatments to eliminate discoloration and give you a brighter, more attractive smile.
Whitening procedures are not a solution for all discoloration (e.g. darkening caused by cavities). Similarly, whitening does not work on all stains. Dr. Bouvier is committed to helping you choose the best option for your personal situation. Some cases that are not appropriate for whitening procedures can be effectively treated with restorative options.
Whitening procedures can whiten your teeth about 4 to 6 shades on a standard scale showing the range of teeth color.
In this procedure, your Dr. Bouvier applies a gel to the teeth. The gel creates a reaction penetrating the enamel of the teeth and eliminating deep stains. This technique is highly effective and can be performed in one or two office visits. This procedure is then followed by an at home whitening regimen.
We take impressions of your mouth, and from them create custom-fitted trays that fit over your teeth. At home, and at the convenience of your schedule, you place a thin ribbon of lightening/bleaching gel into the tray and wear it from 15 minutes, up to 1 or 2 hours depending on the strength of the gel. Whitening occurs in as little as 3 days.
If you want to straighten your teeth discretely – without sacrificing your mature image – then Invisalign clear braces may be the right solution for you. Dr. Bouvier offers this state-of-the-art orthodontic treatment to give patients beautiful smiles, comfortably and quickly.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is the clear, comfortable, removable alternative to traditional metal braces.
How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign patients wear a series of clear, acrylic aligners that gently move teeth into their ideal arrangement. Dr. Bouvier will precisely plan your Invisalign treatment from start to finish. Then, a certified Invisalign lab will custom-make your clear braces especially for your unique straightening needs. Each set of aligners is worn for two weeks, and then replaced by the next pair in your series.
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
While treatment times vary based on the complexity of each individual’s needs, many patients achieve their ideal smile in less than a year. Average treatment time ranges from 6 to 18 months.
How often will I need to visit the dentist’s office?
You’ll visit our office every six weeks to pick up new aligners and ensure treatment is on track.
How do I eat with Invisalign?
The aligners are removable, so you can take them out to eat a meal, brush, and floss.
How long do I wear the aligners?
The aligners are worn all day and all night, except when you take them out to clean them, brush your teeth, and eat.
Does Invisalign treatment hurt?
Invisalign clear braces won’t irritate your mouth like traditional metal braces can. When you insert a new set of aligners, you may feel slight pressure that typically goes away in 72 hours.
What are the benefits of Invisalign?
Invisalign provides a wealth of benefits, including:
- The aligners are nearly invisible to let you straighten your teeth discretely.
- Because the aligners are removable, you can eat and drink what you want.
- You can brush and floss as normal to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
- The aligners are comfortable because there’s no metal to irritate your mouth.
- Treatment time is fast.
- Am I a candidate for Invisalign?
We invite you to attend a complimentary consultation to determine if Invisalign clear braces are right for you. Dr. Bouvier will assess your teeth and discuss your expectations, then help you determine the appropriate straightening method for your unique smile.
How much does Invisalign treatment cost?
The cost is often equivalent to that of traditional braces.
Do you offer payment options?
Yes, Dr. Bouvier has teamed with CareCredit to offer her patients long-term, no- and low-interest payment plans for Invisalign treatment. Other payment options are available, as well. Please give our office a call at 603.692.1112 for details.
