Tooth Colored Fillings
Leslie Ann Bouvier, DMD uses tooth-colored, metal free composite resin and porcelain fillings to restore teeth marred by old, large fillings or decay. During your treatment, Dr. Bouvier will color-match your filling to blend seamlessly with your smile, so no one will notice your filling – just your beautiful, natural-looking teeth. After preparing your cavity, Dr. Bouvier will bond the composite resin or porcelain directly to your tooth to restore optimal appearance, comfort, and function and provide lasting protection.
If you have a chipped, slightly misaligned, or otherwise imperfect tooth that needs cosmetic restoration, Dr. Bouvier may recommend tooth bonding as part of your treatment plan.
During your tooth bonding treatment, Dr. Bouvier will apply liquid composite resin that has been color-shaded to match the natural appearance of your smile. After hardening the resin with a curing light, Dr. Bouvier will artistically sculpt and polish the restoration. In just one visit, you can enjoy a beautiful new smile! Cosmetic bonding can be a viable, affordable alternative to porcelain veneers, but the treatment typically lasts only 5 to 10 years with proper care. Bonding will not discolor as your natural tooth enamel will, so touch-up teeth whitening
may be required to keep your natural teeth the same shade as the
Advancements in functionally aesthetic dentistry have paved the way for Dr. Bouvier to offer all-porcelain crowns – a radiant, natural-looking solution to restore badly decayed or structurally unsound teeth. In the past, tooth-colored crowns consisted of both porcelain and metal. This type of crown provided the strength, but not the translucency or vibrancy of an all-porcelain crown. Breakthroughs in bonding adhesives and stronger dental ceramic substructures that are below the porcelain now allow Dr. Bouvier to create crowns entirely out of porcelain.
Why is this important? Dental porcelain is translucent, like natural tooth enamel, which means that your crowned tooth will blend seamlessly with
your existing smile. In just a few visits with Dr. Bouvier, she will design
and place your porcelain crown to beautifully renew your smile.
What are the advantages of all-porcelain crowns?
Dr. Bouvier’s all-porcelain crowns provide:
- A natural, life-like appearance
- Luminescent color layering
- Added strength and protection
- A metal-free restorative solution
- A safe, biocompatible alternative to renew your smile
Am I a candidate for an all-porcelain crown?
You may qualify for an all-porcelain crown if you:
- Want to replace a metal or porcelain and metal crown
- Need to restore a cracked, decayed, or broken tooth
- Require a crown following root canal therapy
If you have one or more missing teeth in a row, Dr. Bouvier may recommend a dental bridge to complete your smile. A bridge fills a gap left by missing teeth with realistic-looking replacements.
During your treatment, Dr. Bouvier will attach your bridge to healthy neighboring teeth that have been crowned or, alternatively, to dental implants.
Renewing your smile with a bridge will properly distribute the force of your bite and eliminate stress on natural teeth and jaw joints. Your smile will look and feel better, and your existing teeth won’t shift position. With a complete smile, you’ll experience
renewed harmony of your bite and once again enjoy the crunchy and chewy foods that you love.
Partial and Complete Dentures
Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. Both partial and complete dentures are finely crafted and custom-fitted to restore the areas of missing teeth.
